Hey hey hey! This blog post is dedicated to color schemes and one of my favorite color schemes is black, raspberry, and a brownish-tan color (not sure what color that really is). Color schemes are so important to an outfit and it can really complete an outfit. Someone once told me 3 is the magic number when it comes to color schemes. She did tell me this about interior design, but I like to carry that rule into my outfit choices. While I am technically wearing 4 colors (white, black, raspberry, and the brownish-tan color), sometimes I don't really count white because it helps to balance all the colors out. I always always always have to have my bracelet, necklace, and/or belt match my shoes, because it is the easiest way to bring in that third color (also I am OCD when it comes to matching acessorizes and shoes so it is just something I have to do).

Today, I wore a black and white striped shirt. To bring in a pop of color, I acessorized with a raspberry colored scarf from my favorite place... PARIS! I wore my brownish-tan oxfords and to incorporate fully that color into the outfit, I wore my bracelet that is the same color.
Enjoy!

9 tips when traveling to Paris

Bonjour! So the last post was about my last day in Paris, but I thought I need to do one more post about Paris because in my opinion, it is the best city in the world. I want to share tips that I would tell anyone that is recently planning a trip to Paris. From crepes to macarons to where and how to travel, here are my top 9 tips to help plan your trip to Paris.

1. Walk. Walk. Walk.

While it is pretty much impossible to walk EVERYWHERE, I completely recommend walking as much as you can. With walking, you are able to see the city, find cute boutiques and super good food places that you couldn't otherwise find. I had to use the subway most of the time and all I wanted was to be above ground to see the beautiful architecture. Like I have said so many times before, Paris is wonderful and while taking the subway is so much faster, you miss so much by not walking. Oh but if you do use the subway, know what "sortie" means.

2. Go to the very top of the Eiffel Tower

This may be kind of self-explanatory, but you would be surprised to know how many people don't actually go to the very top. It is the most unbelievable view, but there is one problem with the view... which brings me to my next tip..

3. Tour Montparnasse

This is the tallest building in Paris and the view, like the Eiffel Tower's, is impeccable, but this view has the Eiffel Tower in it. This is probably the least necessary thing to do in Paris, but if you have time or you really want to, I do recommend it.

4. The Louvre

The Louvre is one of the largest museums in the world, so I suggest going with a tour. Our tour guide told us that someone calculated it and if you spent one second in front of each piece of art in the Louvre, it would take you three months. Some people told me that unless I am really into art, I would be super bored at the Louvre. I am not a huge art fan, but I absolutely loved it! I think the majority of why I loved it so much was because of the tour guide telling us the history behind each of the pieces we saw. It was so fascinating, so when you go to the Louvre, try to go through with a tour.

5. Macarons

Let me just say this: before i went to Paris, I was not a fan of macarons. I thought they were disgusting, but I had to go to Ladurée to see it and just try one. After trying a macaron actually from Paris, I was in love. In my two full days in Paris, I went to three macaron places: Ladurée, Pierre Herme, and Pierre Marcolini. I only have had these macarons, but I can tell you my favorite from these three. My favorite macarons are from Ladurée, but my second favorite are from Pierre Herme. Pierre Marcolini are delicious too, but nothing compares to Ladurée.

6. Get a hot spot

The hot spot was probably the most useful thing we could have brought with us to Europe. Having a constant wifi source is comforting in a sense, because if you do not know where you are, you can just look up on GoogleMaps how to get to the place you need to go. If you have an iPhone, iMessage goes through wifi, so you can also stay in touch with all your friends and family in the States for no charge... as long as they also have iPhones. Also, being able to snapchat all your adventures is a major plus.

7. Crepes

I loved crepes before I went to Paris and I love crepes even more after coming back from Paris. The place I completely completely recommend to get crepes from is Crêperie Chez Suzette. The flavors delicately danced across my tongue and the flavors were simply divine. Best crepe I have ever had and also the best ice cream I have ever eaten.

8. Go to a little town outside of Paris

One of my favorite things to do when traveling is go to little towns outside of the big city. They are simply charming. I went to Monet's Garden in Giverny and it was a quaint little town, but it was something straight out of a storybook. Even if you don't go to Giverny (which I totally endorse), find a small town to travel to. You will not regret it.

9. Go on an overview bus tour

The first and last day I was in Paris, I went on an overview bus tour. It is just a touring company that has a bus go around the whole city so you get to see, well, an overview. I loved it because it helped me piece together the places I saw while in Paris. I went on the daytime one and also the one at night and both were marvelous.

I hope these tips help when planning your trip to Paris. It is seriously the most spectacular city.

Spring Break 2016-Paris-Day 7

Bonjour! Paris gets more and more amazing the more time you spend there. It just makes my heart sing. On Day 7, I got the opportunity to go to Giverny and see Claude Monet's house and garden. We went the first day it was open for the season, so everything wasn't as in bloom as it would be, but it was still mesmerizing. I love adventuring to little towns and Giverny was the cutest place. They had adorable shops and boutiques and it was just amazing. When we got back to Paris, I wanted to try a new macaron place so we headed over to Pierre Herme. These macarons were delicious! Well, all the macarons I tried in Paris were delicious. We then headed over to a crepe place I found on Pinterest. Originally, I just wanted to go for a cute photo opportunity, but these crepes turned out to be the most magnificent crepes I have EVER tasted! The ice cream was also the best ice cream I have eaten. I definitely recommend this place. After that, we went to Galeries Lafayette which is a HUGE department store in Paris. Then, we walked from there to the lock bridge and from there we went on the night time tour of Paris. It was the same tour that we did our first day in Paris, but this time, we got to see Paris at night. All I can say is... I love Paris.

In the morning, it was raining so I wore my yellow raincoat and my black Hunter rain boots. I also wore a black and white striped shirt with a chambray shirttail with jeans. (I bought this last year so I can't find it online. :/ )

Enjoy!

Spring Break 2016-Paris-Day 6

Bonjour! AHHH... I'm just so in love with Paris. I love this city with all my heart. Day 6 was probably the biggest day. We first went to to Notre Dame. It was amazing to see the history behind the cathedral and al the detail on the building was absolutely amazing. After, we made our way to Tour Montparnasse which is the tallest building in Paris, so there is a breathtaking view of the whole city. Then, we walked to the Eiffel Tower, but we went on a boat tour on the Seine River before going up. After the boat ride, I had my second crepe of the day (so delicious)  and we went all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower. I also ate cotton candy so I got to eat my favorite food I my favorite place. We then went to Ladurée, the macaron store. I have to admit, I do not like the macarons from America, but the macarons in Paris are delicious. They are SOOO good. The last thing we did was just walk down the Champs-Élysées.

I wore my tan cardigan from Ann Taylor and my black and white striped shirt from H & M. I acessorized with my black necklace and I wore my black Hunters.
Enjoy!
